Chartered, IBM and Samsung Produce 90nm SoCs for QUALCOMM Chartered and its Common Platform partners, IBM and Samsung Electronics have successfully produced 90nm chips for QUALCOMM in their respective 300mm fabs. The three companies have manufactured in volume, low-power system-on-chips (SoC) which are used in QUALCOMM's cellular phone chipsets and other wireless communications devices. The Common Platform relationship with QUALCOMM extends past 90nm, to 65nm and beyond. This latest customer win is another testimony of the success of the Common Platform, which offers multi-sourcing of 300mm manufacturing at 90nm, 65nm and 45nm process technologies and comprehensive design enablement.
