Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing began volume production of 300mm wafers in Fab 7 in June 2005. Equipped with state-of-the-art tools, Fab 7 delivers to customers cost-effective 300mm manufacturing with increased productivity and higher yield. With a technology roadmap that extends to 65nm and 45nm, Fab 7 is starting pilot production of 65nm base and low power products in 2006. To help customers transition to 90nm, Chartered offers 0.11-micron process as an intermediary node to 0.13-micron process.

Fab 7 is equipped with an Automated Material Handling System, integrated with a seamless and real-time dispatching system. This highly-automated environment offers productivity, cycle-time reduction and real-time data collection to enable yield improvement. To achieve world-class defect density, Fab 7 also employs a full suite of yield enhancement tools, including AMD's Automation Precision Manufacturing (APM), wafer sleuth software and PDF Solutions' Characterization Vehicle Infrastructure.
