ROLLS OUT 2001 TECHNOLOGY FORUM SERIES
Silicon Valley, Japan and Taiwan Events to
Focus on Next Generation of Foundry
MILPITAS,
Calif. and SINGAPORE - September 18, 2001 - Chartered
Semiconductor Manufacturing (Nasdaq: CHRT and SGX-ST:
Chartered), one of the world's top three silicon foundries,
today detailed plans for its annual series of technology
forums, which focused on the vital business and technology
practices important to the next generation of foundry.
Chartered's 2001 Tech Forums are currently scheduled
to take place in San Jose, California on October 4;
Ta Shee, Taiwan on October 17; and Yokohama, Japan on
October 19.
The free events will feature presentations from Chartered's
senior executives and technical experts on the company's
strategies and perspective on the foundry industry as
well as future technology directions. Complete registration

Topics include recent advances in mixed signal and RF
CMOS, the expansion of Chartered's products and services,
and an in-depth look at the company's most advanced
0.13-micron and 0.10-micron offerings.

Chartered has also added a Partner Pavilion to the Silicon
Valley Tech Forum event featuring an informal, hosted
reception and exhibit fair sponsored by Chartered's
